Custom Logo Digitizing for a Richardson 112 Cap:
From PNG to Embroidery

Custom embroidery is one of my favorite ways to bring a design to life—especially when it starts as a simple idea and ends up stitched on a hat you can actually wear. This recent project was a custom logo digitizing job I completed for a friend, and it perfectly shows how powerful professional embroidery digitizing can be.

Starting with a Black and White PNG

The original artwork for this project was a black and white PNG logo. No color, no stitch file—just clean lines and potential.
Using professional embroidery digitizing software, I converted the PNG into a stitch-ready embroidery file designed specifically for hats.

Digitizing a logo for embroidery is much more than tracing an image. Every stitch, direction, and density matters—especially when you’re embroidering on a structured cap.

The logo was digitized specifically for a Richardson 112 cap, one of the most popular and reliable snapback trucker hats on the market. This style requires precise digitizing to ensure:

One of the caps used in this project was gray and white, and we chose a bold orange embroidery thread to create high contrast and visual impact.

Once the digitizing was complete, it was time for machine embroidery on a hat. Using a proper cap hoop and stabilized setup, the design stitched out clean, crisp, and exactly as planned. The orange thread popped beautifully against the gray and white background, making the logo stand out without overpowering the hat.
